Board of Health

The Board of Health is performing duties relevant to the protection of public health, disease control, the promotion of sanitary living conditions and the protection of the environment from pollution as required by state and local laws.  Some duties of the Health Agent include inspections of septic systems; issues permits and enforces minimum sanitation standards for food establishments; conducts annual inspections, issues permits and enforces state sanitation codes of recreational camps (campgrounds); condemns dwellings unfit for human habitation and places orders to occupants to either vacate, cleanup, or tear down a condemned building.
