We provide an efficient and effective Solid Waste Transfer / Recycling Station for the Town of New Marlborough with an ongoing commitment to improvement. 

TRANSFER STATION INFORMATION

Thank you for following the guidelines posted for the disposal of your trash & recyclables at the Transfer Station. This will assure that it will run safely for you and will keep our Transfer Station attendants safe.

Transfer Station permits are available June 1st at a cost of $225 and are effective from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. To purchase by mail, please send check payment and a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) to Transfer Station Permits, PO Box 99, Mill River, MA 01244. Payments, along with a SASE, may be placed in the blue drop box at Town Hall. Permits may also be purchased online (credit cards). Be sure to include the plate number of the vehicle, make and model that you will be using to go to the Transfer Station. One additional permit may be requested at no additional cost, please be sure to include the plate number, make and model for the additional vehicle.

There will be no admittance to the Transfer Station without a valid permit after August 15th.

1) Trash Container, Recycling Container and Metal Container are included with a transfer station permit.

2) The Electronics/Appliances and Construction Containers can be used, but there may be an additional cost associated with the disposal. The cost of truck loads or large amounts of construction materials will be determined by the Transfer Station Attendant. If you have a smaller box of items that you need to dispose of, please consult the Transfer Station attendant for instructions.

3) SWAP SHED-Although the Swap Shed has recently reopened, please consider taking items, when it is allowable, to Goodwill in Great Barrington, Habitat for Humanity in Canaan, CT or Pittsfield or Western MA Labor Action, 298 Columbus Ave in Pittsfield (Please note: they do not take books).
