Call for Volunteers - Conservation Commission

The Select Board seeks a qualified and interested individual from New Marlborough to fill a vacancy on the Conservation Commission.  

One member is needed to fill a vacant seat on this appointed board to serve until June 30, 2024, at which time they may request reappointment.  The Conservation Commission is responsible for locally administrating the Wetlands Protection Act (WPA) under MGL Chapter 131, Section 40. 

Commission typically meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month at 5:00 and attends site visits as necessary.   Members are expected to devote additional time for research and education relating to the WPA.  Current chairs are John Schreiber and Freddy Friedman.

Qualified residents who have an interest in serving on this committee are encouraged to send a short letter of interest to the Board in care of the Town Administrator at or PO Box 99, Mill River, MA  01244 by 3:00 p.m. on April 8.
